Our name comes from Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where 42 is the answer to the ultimate question — a reminder that the right answer is meaningless without the right question. Regional Path to Net Zero
Built a platform to model the UK's energy futures on the path to Net Zero by 2050 — pulling together pipeline projects and data to map investment routes against competing priorities (decarbonisation, affordability, reliability) within real-world constraints, so regulators, local authorities and energy providers could weigh the options and agree the best way forward.
Throughput & Cost Adoption
A water utility had a sound decision-support application for understanding cost of failure and coordinating downtime across its bioresources network — but adoption stayed low. Ran an adoption programme across process, operating model, communications, stakeholder engagement and learning, plus an integrated bioresources planning view linking strategic, tactical and operational decisions.
Global RGM Deployment
Migrated ~40 markets from legacy tools to a single SaaS platform for customer planning, trade promotion management and trade funds control. Led scoping, configuration, activation and train-the-trainer adoption across Wave 1 Europe & APAC markets.
Trade Promotion Optimisation
A cloud TPO solution using AI/ML to identify the true drivers of demand and optimise full-year promotional plans for turnover and profitability, with prescriptive analytics guiding spend.
ML Forecasting Accelerator
Deployed a driver-based machine-learning forecast accelerator (Demand Brain), giving the client's data science team a foundation to enhance short- and mid-term demand models.
Touchless Forecasting
Used point-of-sale data as a demand driver to lift forecast accuracy for one of the client's largest retailers across Mexico and North America, via a decision-intelligence platform.
Global IBP "North Star"
Built a global IBP playbook aligning supply chain, finance and commercial — process maps, KPIs, RACIs and forum guides — plus a decision-support platform, piloted in-market to monetise volume decisions.
Demand Planning Maturity
Assessed demand planning maturity across people, process, KPIs and technology to close gaps between markets, delivering a roadmap of quick wins aligned with commercial and finance.
Strategic Network Allocation
A digital twin recommending which product to produce at which factory given strategic intent — growth, least cost or optimal profit — modelling flow from raw material to consumer market for what-if analysis.
Tax-Driven Network Twin
A multi-year digital twin recommending which production lines to move to which country given changing tax, demand and capacity — factoring NPV, lead-time offset and the cost of moving machines.
Production Scheduling (MILP)
A mixed-integer linear programming proof of concept capturing all relevant constraints, activities and resources, with an optimised changeover matrix to hit a least-cost objective.
Value Chain Financial Model
Modelled an end-to-end pharma operation — from API to bulk, packaging, warehousing and distribution — to show the trade-off between cash, cost and service across multiple what-if scenarios.
Factory Migration
Expanded global hot-sauce supply for UK & US market growth — commissioned new production lines in Utrecht, activated new European raw-material vendors and launched a new iconic bottle.
Supply Chain Maturity Review
A detailed maturity assessment across Europe and Russia benchmarking process and technology against industry and internal markets, with a prioritised short-, mid- and long-term action plan.
Planning Capability Setup
As the client separated from a JV partner, stood up a new supply chain planning function — operating model, key hires, SAP R3 with APS, and S&OP / planning processes — to run forecasting and supply independently.
